The 2014 Arsies: January 31, 2014

January 31, 2014

Happy Friday, fancypants! There's no time to waste: we jump right into the hot metal action with Razormaze. Their album Annihilatia is a fun celebration of thrash. Listening to Razormaze takes me back to simpler times. Their sound is unpretentious, accessible, and electrifying. And while Karnivool are decidedly less metal, since Razormaze aren't out to scare the living fuck out of you, Karnivool's dubious claim to the genre once again gets a pass this round. Which is too bad for Razormaze, because once you give Karnivool a chance to be in the room, they crawl under your skin. So much mood, so many feels to Asymmetry. Karnivool pull off an unlikely-on-paper win over Razormaze. But will they have what it takes to defeat The Dillinger Escape Plan?
That's the end of the week! Come back on Monday, as the Arsies presents Revocation against Darkane.
